This particular cart is, in fact, a human-designed steam cart. They do exist. They differ from dwarf-designed carts mainly in that they tend to be considerably safer in exchange for perhaps not being quite as fast and not as... experimental. Dwarves tend to regard such devices with mild curiosity, but ultimately boredom.
